As seen in Turkey, one of the most important problems of internet journalism, which is so slow in creating its own ethical codes and routines, is "junk websiteS" and "junk news". Internet journalism, which is seen to be shaped by commercial concerns, allows for implementations and operations which disregard journalism factors such as content, format, ethics, accuracy, news value, etc. Internet newspapers, appeared as a reflection of traditional media culture and habits, re-shape their format in online media. Social networking sites are the main contributors of the traffic in news sites, hence the users often face informational mess and unethical news items in news sites today. Intriguing news headlines and images, especially shared via social media, lead the users to click the news item which actually may include a different content from what headline suggests. It has direct links with digital advertising. It is defined as the practice of forcing number of clicks to increase within news site and thus increasing the profit gained from the advertisements through the use of attractive news headlines and visuals. “Clicking journalism” became a wide spread practice by many media companies. Especially following the development of web technologies, online journalism recorded rapid advancement in Turkey and took its place in journalism.
